Happy New Year Friends! The start of the new year brings many resolutions all over social media. It seems that everyone has made one but, in reality who actually carries out their resolution for the whole year? Yeah....no one. This year I decided to make a resolution that was not only resonable, but also enjoyable for me. Lately I have been back on Pinterest and found TONS of new amazing blogs. I have pinned hundreds of new recipes that make my mouth water just by looking at the pictures! Each week I am going to try and make at least one new creation from a blog or create my own. I will then blog about the recipes each Sunday along with a review of each new meal. I can't guarruntee that I will make it all 52 weeks considering my unpredictable schedule but I will try my best! Without further ado, here is Recipe Share #1.....
My first recipe that I tried this year was a PB&J green smoothie from my favorite blog Hummusapien. This recipe seemed like the perfect way to start off my resolution. Full of fruits and veggies (trust me, you can't even tell they are there!) to energize your busy day. At first, I was a little hesitant to try this recipe considering I am not the biggest smoothie fan but, the PB&J part convinced me. This recipe was very satisfying and kept me full until lunch. My only complaint was that I had a massive brain freeze afterwords, but that was my own fault for making it on a January morning!
I also made Amanda's almond butter rice crispy protein bars which I forgot to take a picture of...whoops. (I'm already failing at this new year's resolution thing). I made a few minor adjustments to the recipe because I was out of some ingredients. I added 1/4 almond butter and 1/4 cup of pumpkin instead of 1/2 cup almond butter and I used half maple syrup and half honey for the sweener. They turned out fabulous. I love eating these as an afternoon snack. They are the perfect protein punch to hold me over until dinner.
So thats it for this weeks verson of Recipe Share. Join me next Sunday!
