Today I have some ch-ch-ch-chia jam to share with you all. And yes, chia seeds are the same seed that made your chia pet's hair grow. I have to admit I never had a chia pet but after eating chia jam and thinking about chia seeds I think I need to go out and buy one.
Not only is this jam downright delicous, but it also has incredible health benefits.
-Cherries are full of antioxidants that have been proven to prevent chronic diseases
-Blueberries are high in vitamin K and are associated with prevent memory loss and improving motor coordination
-Strawberries are a fantastic source of vitamin C. Just one cup contains 100% of the daily reccommend value.
And don't get me started on chia seeds. They have incredible-superfruit-omega 3 powers. Those little seeds pack in a lot of nutrition!

Enough talk, LET"S JAM!
Superfruit Chia Jam
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh chopped strawberries
1/4 cup fresh blueberries
1/4 cup fresh pitted cherries, chopped
1 tbsp chia seeds
3-5 drops liquid stevia (depending on how sweet you want your jam)
Method:
Pour all of the fruit into a small pot under medium heat. Use a fork to mash the fruit. Cook until the mixture is boiling and the fruit is mashed to the desired consistancy. (Mine took about 6 minutes). Remove the fruit mixture from heat and stir in chia seeds and stevia. Let cool in a bowl until cool (about 20 minutes). Place into a mason jar or a plastic container and store in the fridge. This jam keeps for about 2 weeks but I guaruntee that it will be gone before then!
